The FORWARD Working Groups
To promote collaboration between different players in ICT security research, FORWARD needs to establish means to allow the continuous exchange of ideas and information for the duration of the initiative. This communication will be facilitated mainly by the operation of the FORWARD Working Groups (WGs), which form the core of the initiative.
Each FORWARD WG will address a specific issue that the community considers to be a significant threat to cyber security, or foresees to become one in the future. Through the discussion of best practices, state-of-the-art research and priorities, the WGs will be able to set the research agenda to be pursued in Europe to address existing and future cyber-threats. After discussions held during the 1st FORWARD Workshop three WGs were formed, led by members of the FORWARD consortium:
- Smart Environments (WG-SE), led by Dr. Sotiris Ioannidis of FORTH
- Malware & Fraud (WG-MF), led by Prof. Christopher Kruegel of TUV
- Critical Systems (WG-CS), led by Prof. Erland Jonsson of Chalmers University
